Eric Poretsky

Eric joined Cain International in April 2017 and is responsible for overseeing the firm’s US real estate investments. He brings over 20 years of experience in acquisitions, development and asset management and has been involved in various commercial, residential, hospitality and mixed-used assets both in the US and internationally, across both debt and equity led investments.

Eric’s previous roles include senior vice president at The Witkoff Group, a US real estate investment and development company, where he evaluated and structured real estate investments, managed operations with capital equity partners, supported capital raising and oversaw development and asset management on large scale real estate projects across all major property sectors. Prior to The Witkoff Group, Eric was a director at Strategic Value Partners, a privately owned $6bn investment fund manager focused on distressed and deep value opportunities, where his role was to source, evaluate and restructure real estate debt investments and value assets. He was previously a vice president at Starwood Capital Group and an associate at Brown Brothers Harriman.

Eric holds a Master of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, University of California (Berkeley) and a bachelor’s degree in mathematical economics, magna cum laude, from Colgate University.
